Why are there so few global Norwegian brands? And what can be done?

I was interviewed by a norwegian newspaper about global Norwegian brands, or the lack thereof.

While Sweden has global brands such as Volvo and Ericsson, Ikea and Absolut, France has Champagne and Cuba is associated with expensive cigars, we have then to ask the question: Which brands globally are associated with Norway? And why are there so few?
